Hearing Evaluation
Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance is equipped with state of the art, calibrated equipment to ensure that your hearing evaluation is as accurate as possible. All comprehensive audiological evaluations are performed in a controlled environment that has passed rigorous national standards.
We provide a full range of assessments to determine the presence of a hearing loss, its nature and its severity.
You can expect that only a doctoral level audiologist who is board certified in audiology will perform evaluations at our center. Board certification requires specific, relevant and more frequent continuing education than the Florida license requires for renewal; so, you can be sure the quality of care you receive at Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance is superior.
Rehabilitation
Once a hearing loss has been diagnosed a plan for rehabilitation must be prepared. This may or may not include being fitted with hearing aids. Dr. Nally will provide a comprehensive plan for helping patients hear their best based on individual lifestyles and needs. If hearing aids are recommended, a full range of digital hearing instrument technology will be offered.
At Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance all patients are afforded the opportunity to attend aural rehabilitation classes in our comfortable, leading edge conference facility. These classes are designed to help those in attendance understand hearing loss and its impact on oneself and relationships. In addition, attendees will learn about hearing instrument care and use, appropriate expectations, and better communication strategies. Spouses and significant others are encouraged to attend.
Balance Assesment
In the general population dizziness and other related balance symptoms are the third leading symptom that warrants a doctor’s visit. In people over the age of 75 dizziness is the number one reason for going to the doctor. While a variety of causes exist that may be responsible for dizziness, a great number of them stem from the vestibular system (the inner ear and the nerves that connect it to the brain).
With the skills that experience brings, in combination with the newest infrared video technology, Southwest Florida Center for Hearing and Balance provides the core evaluations of the inner ear to identify abnormalities of the balance system. This will assist your physician or physical therapist in designing an appropriate plan for your care.
